My client, a major financial services client in the central belt of Scotland are currently seeking an experience Senior Oracle DBA to join their experienced team.
Responsibilities.
To create clear, concise technical proposal documents on database matters.
Monitor training needs, develop and deliver training solutions if and when needed in database related areas.
Resolve all Database queries and issues.
Understand business needs and create standard and creative solutions.
Gather and analyse relevant data and information systematically, considering a broad range of sources.
Provide 2nd Level support for all database related issues.
Technical skills.
* Experienced Oracle Database Administrator, minimum 5 years experience.
* Extensive knowledge of Oracle 9i required. Knowledge of Oracle 10G would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of Oracle Clustering technologies (preferably Oracle RAC)
* Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
* Experienced database designer (Data Architect)
* Strong Unix skills essential, preferably AIX
* Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) an advantage
* Knowledge of MS SQL server an advantage
